Join Madrid Tribu
It’s free and you join by request. Read the rules before you tap. There are seven, and they’re the reason this works.
What happens when you tap
- Your request goes into a queue. You don’t walk straight in — it waits for approval.
- A person reviews it. There’s no automated system behind this. We let people in one batch a week, so that nobody joins alone: you come in alongside others who are new that same week.
- We message you directly. We’ll tell you what’s coming up and which plan to turn up to. After that it’s on you.
So expect a few days between requesting and joining. The wait isn’t a glitch — it’s what keeps the group worth being in.
Request to join
No fees, no sponsors, nothing for sale. Just people who meet up.

I don’t have Telegram
It takes two minutes to install and it’s free. We’re not on WhatsApp for a specific reason: there, your phone number is visible to every member of the group. On Telegram it isn’t, and you can use whatever name you like.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
No. The group runs mostly in Spanish, but plenty of people switch to English happily, and a good number of us moved here from somewhere else. The board game nights work with almost no shared language at all, so that’s the one to start with.
How long does approval take?
Usually a few days. We approve in weekly batches so that new people arrive together rather than one at a time into a room full of strangers. If it’s taking a while, it’s a queue, not a no.
Do I need to know about art?
No. Not about art, not about games, not about books. You’re coming to spend time with people; the activity is just the excuse.
Can I come if I don’t know anyone?
That’s the normal case — almost everyone arrives on their own. It’s why we message you first instead of leaving you to work it out.
